We have a Public Sector client based in Central London looking for an Interim Commercial Assurance Manager on a role that will last until the 31st March 2018. This role is INSIDE IR35 with a maximum day rate of £359.32 on offer.

Key Tasks and Deliverables:

  • Maintaining Spending controls on behalf of the Cabinet Office and in line with the Controls processes
  • Assessing individual spend control requests for the Cabinet Office, reviewing each case against criteria and producing advice to management and then Ministers on how each will achieve value for money and highlights commercial capability
  • Working within the team to assist in improving commercial management information, forward planning, and commercial intelligence to assist in driving process and value efficiencies
  • Liaising at all levels and across Government Departments, delivering a consistent and valued approach to engagement with Departments to assist them in meeting Commercial Operating Standards
  • Supporting the team in monitoring departmental spend, and savings to include compliance reporting and resolution (escalation to senior leaders where necessary) applying initiative to resolve problems and working with management to triage (peer review) and deliver complex cases and managing relationships with major customers, suppliers or stakeholders.
  • Suggesting and implementing amendments as directed to existing processes and controls as required and in relation to new Assurance procedures, including supporting wider controls and outputs of Commercial Continuous Improvement
  • Proactively manage and deliver day-to-day case management, provide “front of office” support to other government departments and their stakeholders, and provide requisite input to the management in CCIT who will lead on the strategic development of this Control within an evolving commercial assurance framework
  • Management of and responsibility for data recording for Controls – logging, tracking and production of key reporting. Developing opportunities to improve data completeness, timeliness and quality

Experience Required:

  • Able to review complex information, make decisions and provide advice on business case requests, at pace
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressured environment, undertake caseload/project management and deliver to strict deadlines and targets
  • Experience of successfully communicating strategic and/or commercial issues/feedback in meaningful ways to customers and stakeholders
  • A high degree of numeracy, audit and analytical skills, as well as skills in writing submissions and/or briefings – a keen eye for detail and the ability to assimilate and analyse information and communicate concisely.
  • Stakeholder management, engagement negotiation and influencing skills in a complex customer and supplier environment
  • Proven ability to lead, engage and manage peers and more senior colleagues without the benefit of direct reporting lines
  • Excellent analytical and research skills
  • Experience of successfully communicating category/business performance in meaningful ways to customers and stakeholders
  • High level of IT literacy including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint or Google (G Suite)
  • A basic security check will be required
