Senior Category Manager
Your new company
Financial Services organisation based in Edinburgh are recruiting for a Senior Category Manager to join their team on a 12 month fixed term contract. Due to an internal secondment, you will manage the IT Procurement Team and will deliver complex and business critical projects.
Your new role
As Senior IT Category Manager, you will lead a team of procurement professionals, developing and implementing high value, complex sourcing and category strategies, ensuring that projects deliver value and minimise risk to the business.
To achieve this, you will engage with senior stakeholders and suppliers to identify where savings and benefits can be achieved and will provide clear direction and leadership to the procurement team and key stakeholders. You will ensure that all projects are run compliantly in line with procurement process and policy, ensuring all documentation is authorised and benefits articulated for the team.
You will lead a team of category managers and will develop the procurement trainee through coaching and mentoring.
What you'll need to succeed
Experience working in a senior procurement position managing IT Procurement (software & services) is essential for this position. You will also have a demonstrable track record of managing complex IT Procurement projects that have delivered value and minimised risk and will have experience in category management.
As you will be working closely with senior stakeholders in the business, the ability to influence and positively challenge key stakeholders is required.
