Purchasing & Inventory Control Manager

On a planned expansion, this role will make a significant difference in efficiencies and cost reduction in inventory and product management throughout the supply chain, playing a crucial role in the business transformation and its future success.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, the role will have responsibility for the leadership of a team of five, as well as forecasting and stock management of products and suppliers; budget management, price negotiation, inventory planning and control and management of the import of products. The co-ordination and management of freight forwarders also forms part of the role as well as reviewing and improving systems and procedures. You will also be expected to liaise closely with other teams such as product development and buying.
This role deputises for the Supply Chain Director when required.
Candidates must be professional, ambitious and demonstrate an entrepreneurial commercial acumen and long term aim to grow their career. You must possess considerable experience in a senior stock management role and be highly competent in Excel and other IT packages. Additionally, candidates must have team leadership experience as well as overseas sourcing knowledge and an understanding of import procedures. Some travel is expected, as is the ability to work under pressure and manage priorities effectively. Ideally, candidates will possess an appropriate qualification such as a business degree or CIPS.
