Your new company
You will be joining a well-established manufacturing engineering company who act as a global leader within the crushing and screening industry, as their specialised products are used throughout a variety of industries. They have gained a commendable reputation for distributing high quality equipment across Ireland, which is contrasted by their continued success and dedicated customer base. Due to expansion, the company are seeking to expand their purchasing team with a new Tactical Buyer on a full time permanent basis.
Your new role
Reporting into the Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance, procurement and continuous improvement of the complete purchasing process by liaising effectively with all departments throughout the organisation. As a Tactical Buyer, you will be designated with a specific production area to focus on and monitor performance of your own preferred supplier list in relation to quality, pricing fluctuations, lead times and overall service. Also, you will negotiate with global suppliers to achieve a cost saving for the business and manage inventory control using internal MRP software for purchasing.
What you'll need to succeed
Your previous 2+ years' experience within a high volume procurement, supply chain or purchasing team will lead to success along with knowledge of the steel industry and experience buying steel related materials. In addition, you will hold strong inventory planning, team working and negotiation skills. Also, you will be competent using all components of MS Office with MRP/ERP or a similar scheduling system.
