This job as a Vendor Manager is with a manufacturing organisation based in Ayrshire on a 6-12 month contract paying up to £200 per day. Following a period of sustained growth, they are looking to build upon current success and this is in turn a very exciting time to join the organisation, supporting the management of strategic vendors across the UK.
Your new role
This is an exciting and challenging job for an experienced procurement professional to work within the Vendor contracts team. You will be responsible for managing the strategic vendor portfolio, including reviewing operational performance to ensure agreed standards of service is met. Specifically, you will be responsible for vendor interface on all commercial and product integrity activity directly affecting the organisations existing fleet. Additionally you will build and manage the relationship with suppliers to ensure company objectives are met. This role will also require you to support tender activities and contract award process in line with company policies, ensuring the best commercial position is achieved through effective negotiations. This role will require you to be flexible as travel will be required, mainly in the UK, to perform regular vendor review meetings to ensure any issues are being recorded and actioned accordingly.
What you'll need to succeed
The person should be a self-motivated individual with a proactive approach to resolving any potential issues which may arise in the supply chain. You should be an excellent communicator as strong relationship management is critical to ensure success in this role. A proven track record of successfully managing strategic vendors and contract implementation is essential for this role, as is working to the highest standards against tight timescales.
You should be able to demonstrate an extensive knowledge of purchasing and supply chain management with a minimum of 5 years' experience in vendor commercial negotiations.
