The primary purpose of this role is to ensure goods and services are procured that meet the organisation's needs.

To be responsible for the effective running of the Cumbria Constabulary’s procurement function. To direct and undertake evaluations, on a continuous basis, of the procurement function to ensure the ongoing delivery of Best Value supplies, services and works from wherever they are sourced.

This will require the review of existing procedures to ensure that they comply with industry best practice, negotiate contracts and renewals with suppliers as well as encourage collaborative purchasing to leverage value.

Provide procurement resource demand planning for Cumbria Constabulary.

Conduct data analysis to identify opportunities for cost saving in spend profiles for all categories.
