Procurement Officer (Adult Services)

Hackney is London's most diverse, dynamic neighbourhood. Reaching from the Square Mile to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, this is an area of rapid economic growth, particularly in technology, media, fashion and other creative industries. Hackney has more green spaces than any other inner London borough; some of the capital's finest schools; first class transport connections; excellent public services; and thriving arts, cultural and retail sectors.

We seek people with ambition, creativity and commitment to ensure our economic growth provides benefits for everyone and creates opportunities to transform the lives of residents.

There are big financial challenges for adult social care over the coming years. The structure and roles within our commissioning division have changed to address this. We know we need the best people in place. People keen to make a meaningful contribution to our most vulnerable. People with a flexible attitude, who enjoy a fast paced working environment.

If you are resourceful, resilient and results driven then we want you as part of our division.

Hackney Council is looking for someone to help put in place a range of services within adult social care. As Procurement Officer, you will help make sure we get the best for some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

Your main focus will be procuring Adult Social Care and preventative services and you will support all stages of letting contracts. You will help us get the most cost effective, high quality, services for people who need them. We will encourage you to look for innovative ways to improve the way we work.

You will need experience working in a procurement or contracting role and you will be familiar with OJEU procurements and legislation. We also need you to have experience in establishing and operating contracts and service agreements.

You must be able to manage a number of on-going projects at once and be able to prioritise your own workload. You will need to work proactively to build relationships with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of projects. We will also need you to write reports and keep accurate records. You should have solid IT skills including MS Office and Excel.

Overall, you must be determined to help us use our contracted services to get the best for people who need our support.

At Hackney, we go that extra mile for our people; we offer a work environment which is stimulating, fast moving and supportive, giving you the chance to use your skills and develop new ones within a high profile organisation.
