Warehouse Shift Manager
My client is a global 3PL who are looking for experienced and ambitious warehouse shift managers to join their growing contract, this is a crucial role overseeing a large team within a prestigious contract. You will be experienced within FMCG or 3PL distribution and be a driven and hands on manager.
To manage and oversee the teams responsible across the appropriate shifts for all warehouse activities including the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely dispatch of goods to ensure all customer orders are delivered in a timely cost effective manner.
To plan and manage effectively the order flows into the warehouse operation to ensure all outbound, inbound and internal activities are carried out efficiently, at minimum cost, whilst meeting the service expectations of the Business.
To ensure all warehouse activities are conducted in a safe environment, meeting all Health and Safety requirements, supported by the appropriate training, with a team that feels empowered.
Responsible for leading, encouraging, motivating and training personnel within sphere of responsibility to deliver excellent performance which maximizes warehouse efficiency. To develop and create an empowered workforce who actively identify improvement ideas.
Responsible for the performance management of all direct reports.
The incumbent will manage all warehouse activities (during individual shifts) to ensure all customer orders are available to dispatch on time by ensuring the appropriate deployment of resources (People, Time and Equipment) to achieve on time in full delivery to end customer order. To deliver this, the Shift Leader will be required through our WMS to manage the hour by hour, day to day activities.
Excellent people management skills to carry out effectively Disciplinary, appraisals and Coaching.
Good knowledge of MS Office applications
Good Communication, Presentation and Networking skills. Able to express ideas effectively and actively listen to others.
Strong customer orientation
Able to influence, challenge and advise colleagues.
In depth Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.
3 years people management experience in a FMCG warehouse.
Experience of working with Trade Unions.
Knowledge and experience of Supply chain systems, tools and processes
A salary between £36,000 and £38,000 + Bonus
