Formed as a result of a merger between University Hospitals of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust and Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, we are now striving to match the considerable skills of our dynamic teams with the needs of the community, building a sustainable Single Hospital Service that is high quality and cost-effective. It’s a particularly progressive environment in which to work, and as such, we are seeking two Purchasing Managers who can match our ambitions with their knowledge.
Taking on a variety of procurement projects, you will be entrusted with sourcing and securing services, goods, equipment and materials to be used across our sites. Utilising your great negotiation skills, you will strive to provide value-for-money deals that will support our ongoing mission to cut costs wherever possible, ultimately helping us to achieve our savings targets without ever compromising on quality. Furthermore, you will identify opportunities for cost-reduction, working with the clinicians and non-clinical stakeholders to ensure fantastic solutions are provided. Developing relationships with a broad cross section of suppliers, you will be at the forefront of developments in the procurement field.
From tender processes through to selection strategies, your knowledge of EU regulations, UK law and NHS procurement guidance will ensure we remain compliant across our hospitals. You will have gained this knowledge in a procurement role and you will be planning on cementing this experience by gaining MCIPS within the next 12-24 months. Many of our contracts are high-value, so you will have good financial acumen, with the ability to translate your recommendations into comprehensive reports. You will also need stakeholder sign-off on all decisions, so you will have fantastic communication, presentation, persuasion and negotiation skills.
