Logistics Operations First Line Manager
My client is looking for a process driven logistics first line manager who has ideally worked within start up operations or experienced within process improvement and development and continuous improvement. You will work on their new contract wins team, ensuring new contracts integrate successfully into the operation.
To contribute to the smooth and efficient implementation of new business and to support operational activities within the warehouse in order to meet and exceed both the businesses & customer expectations. To assist in the management by leading projects and ensuring all KPI's and standards are met.
*To ensure that all activities are undertaken in accordance with current legislation, company policies and procedures, standing instructions and contract practices.
*To ensure that all requests or instructions as conveyed by the management; in relation to duties, policies and procedures are carried out in full.
*Attend any developmental training as required in compliance with the Companies commitment to the Investors in People standard
*Provide management reports as required
*Developing and encouraging a lean thinking culture throughout the division
*Supporting with implementation of new business to ensure seamless transition into the division
*Be involved in system testing, training and post implementation support working with Business Systems for new systems and new system releases
*To conduct yourself at all times, in a professional manner and promote a good image of the company
*Understand and comply with all relevant company rules, agreements, policies and quality procedures
*Understand and comply with all relevant legislative requirements and codes of practice
*To ensure good working relationships are maintained at all times
*To ensure company and departmental business is treated in the strictest confidence and not disclosed to persons outside the company or department
*To support and understand the 5s Methodology of the business in order to assist any required UK Contract Logistics site.
*Perform Value Stream mapping analysis on processes throughout the division
*Provide as required, ongoing support across all areas of the division within a number of functions as directed by your direct line manager.
*Interaction with existing and potential customers.
*The ability to manage to customer enquiries and investigate and solve customer's problems. *Ensure general administration is completed to highest level of standard and compliance.
*Effective support and leadership of operational teams
*Encouraging and developing lean thinking with all site staff
*Motivating staff and driving a culture of health and safety and continuous improvement
*Take reasonable care of your own and others people's Health & Safety in the workplace.
*The ability to work on your own initiative to deliver customer and internal expectations

*Possess excellent communication and IT skills

*Knowledge and experience of 5s, lean and continuous improvement

A salary between £28,000 and £31,000 + Bonus + bens
