Specialist manufacturer needs Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager, near Wimborne, £35-40k plus benefits

Your new role
In this position you will ensure component availability, monitoring stock levels v's the order book, and ensuring suppliers and sub-contractors perform within or above their service levels. You will be able to further develop the relationships with existing and new suppliers, assessing capability and price and making purchasing decisions to optimise supply chain performance. You will also handle onsite inventory, ensuring stock integrity is maintained through the implementation and enforcement of best practice.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have experience in a similar role, with proven ability to control costs and improve availability within a manufacturing environment using a recognised ERP system (SAP / SAGE / Oracle etc). Ideally this will be from within a "make to order" SME. You will be comfortable being both hands on and strategic as circumstances require.
Any experience of electronics / defence / aerospace / telco / hi-tech sectors is an advantage but not essential. Experience of Export Control is also desirable but not essential. You may already have Professional Qualifications (CIPS / APQA / APAP etc), but if not, and you are interested in achieving these, then support can be provided within the business.
