Supplier Development Engineer

Your new company
A Global Engineering Company, with numerous divisions. Due to significant change in one such division there is a vacancy for a Supplier Development Engineer to join the team, working within procurement and supply chain.

Your new role
Provide quality and engineering leadership to drive sustainable supplier development regarding safety, quality, technical compliance, innovation and continuous improvement and in doing so, maximise the competitive advantage of the organisation through best in class supply chain partners.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree in Engineering and/or business administration and/or a related technical qualification
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Supplier Development, Supply Chain or QA in a manufacturing/engineering environment
  • Project Management experience
  • Ability to lead and work as part of multi-functional teams
  • Demonstrable experience in the use of problem solving tools and analytics
  • Good knowledge of ISO standards (ISO9001, 14001, 18001)
  • Knowledge of Lean principles
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence at all levels

  • 10. Ability to travel


  • Knowledge of IPFE products and applications
  • Purchasing and/or Contract Law and administration

    • Logistics Global markets and cultures

    Key Accountability

  • Supplier Quality performance is continuously monitored and issues addressed to achieve zero RPPM
  • Supplier Delivery performance is continuously monitored and issues addressed to achieve >98% OTD
  • Supplier PCI objectives are continuously monitored and gaps addressed to achieve 100% of PCI commitments.
  • Supplier Compliance is actively reviewed and gaps are closed to achieve >90% compliance
  • 100% of new suppliers are fully assessed and formally approved before being added to approved supplier list
  • All non-conformance and critical action points are addressed in a timely manner with 100% closure

  • Plans are in place to mitigate risk in the Supply Chain and non-performing suppliers are actively prevented from doing business with the Division
    7 Protect company by restricting the use of any supplier failing to meet minimum technical, quality or commercial targets.
