This exciting role manages the entire despatch function of the company within a 24/7 environment. Responsible for a team and reporting directly into the Production Manager, this is an exciting autonomous role for a pro-active, experienced individual.

The key responsibilities of the Despatch Manager are as follows:Appraise, coach and develop Despatch team
Control labour and overtime costs
Ensure correct stock rotation (avoiding waste) and stock checks are timely and accurate
Control distribution costs
Meet all Health & Safety responsibilities as defined in the H&S Policy
To measure, report and analyse causes of waste and aim to eliminate it, eg. pick accuracies, loading times, late into depot costs
Review capacity requirements
Install a continual improvement culture
The ideal Despatch Manager will possess the following skills and experience:Extensive previous warehouse management experience
Proactive problem solver with experience in continuous improvementPrevious experience within a factory/chilled/manufacturing environmentProven track record in dealing with a high volume and fast paced distribution operation
Proven organisational and time-management skills
Fantastic communication skills - verbal and written
The successful candidate will be offered a salary of between £28,000 and £35,000.
