The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Global Category Manager (Supply Chain) to lead the delivery of the procurement ambition across our Supply Chain category; and to be accountable for translating business objectives into commercial procurement activities to ensure there is complete alignment. This is a unique opportunity for a talented and ambitious Procurement professional to join a high calibre Category Management team, and make a significant contribution towards our aim to maximise the value we can achieve from our 3rd party spend.

This is a strategic role that concentrates on global contracts relating to Fleet, Freight, Warehousing and Distribution, which incorporates a total spend of approx. $60-75m across 60 countries; and managing critical internal relationships. Our overall Direct category expenditure is more than $200 million, and there will be opportunities to support sourcing initiatives across other categories as business needs arise; you will also get involved in the building of capacity within our national procurement teams who manage the majority of our Procurement spend.

It's a truly greenfield opportunity that requires the successful candidate to have:

  • A strong background in category management at a regional or global level, or significant Procurement experience within the sector and the ability to undertake a more strategic role
  • A strong desire to work in the International Development sector
  • Knowledge/understanding/experience within Supply Chain categories of spend (Fleet, Freight, Distribution)
  • Excellent influencing, interpersonal and analytic skills.

The role offers a competitive salary in the context of the sector.

We are working towards three breakthroughs in how the world treats children by 2030:

  • No child dies from preventable causes before their 5th birthday
  • All children learn from a quality basic education and that,
  • Violence against children is no longer tolerated

We know that great people make a great organization, and that our employees play a crucial role in helping us achieve our ambitions for children. We value our people and offer a meaningful and rewarding career, along with a collaborative and inclusive workplace where ambition, creativity, and integrity are highly valued.
