About the client:

  • A major technology organisation supporting the financial services sector
  • A respected, mature procurement team
  • A major onbgoing transformation programme – a number of interesting projects to work on in the P2P area

About the Role:

  • This is a team management role, managing five people.
  • The team will ensure purchase orders and telecoms orders are raised and receipted efficiently
  • You will develop and maintain positive relationships with internal customers and suppliers
  • The successful candidate will promote central procurement policies and procedures, ensuring compliance across the organisation
  • You will ensure the delivery of bought in goods and services at the lowest cost, to agreed targets
  • You will also manage transformation programmes in the P2P area and ensure  a no PO no pay policy
  • You will participate in the purchasing process which will include; obtaining quotes, the development of specifications with internal customers, supplier evaluation and due diligence, supplier appraisal and supplier negotiations
  • You will record software license purchases and feed into a Software Asset Management process
  • You will contribute to the Vendor Risk Management process to ensure that any risks associated with vendors are understood and communicated

What we’re looking for:

  • Solid experience of leading and managing a team
  • Good grasp of purchasing concepts and practices
  • Some knowledge of software licensing would be advantageous
  • Some experience of managing P2P transformation programmes
  • Understanding of Procure to Pay Process
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering process improvement
