Afternoon Shift Transport Supervisor
My client is looking for an experienced Transport Supervisor to join their growing team, you must have experience of managing drivers, clerks and planners ideally within a general haulage, multi drop or pallet network environment. The shift for this role will be either 12PM TO 9PM OR 1PM TO 10PM this is non negotiable so please only apply if you can commit to these shifts.
The main purpose of the Traffic Supervisor is to ensure and assist in providing a safe and cost effective day to day operation which meets our customer's service requirements.
A key part of this will include offering excellent Customer Service and supervision of drivers including briefing/debriefing and monitoring their performance working with your team of clerks and planners in conjunction with the Depot Manager to improve/maintain company KPI's.
You will also work with the Workshop to minimise vehicle down time and to ensure safe vehicle operations including compliance with company wheel security, vehicle defecting also compliance with company Health & Safety procedures.
You will monitor all compliance and administrative tasks completed by your team these can include data entry, Accident and Near Miss reporting, tachograph records, Filing. Attention to detail required. Good telephone manner as inbound and outbound calls are a daily part of the role. We expect you to develop and maintain a good working relationship with all internal and external customers.
A good standard of Maths and English along with a full driving license as travelling for training is required. In addition you will have excellent organisational, Administration and IT skills. Full training will be given to the successful candidate however knowledge of the transport industry and experience in an Operations environment or similar role would be advantageous.

- At least 3 years experience within a transport supervisor role, with experience managing clerks and planners and drivers within a busy transport office .
- Experience within a multi drop, general haulage or pallet network environment.
- CPC advantageous.
A salary between £23,000 and £27,000 dependant on experience + benefits
