If you have a commitment to producing high quality work with excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate effective with all levels, we have the opportunity for you to join our team.

We are looking for either a Trainee Procurement Officer or a Assistant Procurement Officer to work effectively as part of our team.  For either post you will have a working knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing system with a methodical approach to work ensuring you can organise your work effectively to meet deadlines while still paying attention to detail.  

Trainee Procurement Officer - Starting salary £15,009 – Full Time 37 hours per week

Through a formal progression scheme, you can develop a range of knowledge, skills and practical experience at the same time as studying for qualifications through the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply’s professional development scheme. You will have a genuine interest developing a career in procurement, ideally supported by relevant experience which has given you a basic understanding of the role of a procurement function.

Assistant Procurement Officer - Starting salary between £22,578 and £27,282 (pro rata) - Part Time - 22 hours per week (hours to be discussed at interview)

You will provide specialist advice and support to all Council departments, managing and coordinating the tendering process and investigate ‘tail spend’ to identify potential savings for the Council. You will have experience in a procurement environment with a working knowledge of Public Contracts Regulations and procedures.
