My client is a market leading Blue Chip organisation at the forefront of providing innovative multi technology services to an ever expanding customer base.  They are looking to recruit an experienced IT/Technology Senior Category Manager to direct sourcing strategies across complex and high value contracts.

The IT/Technology Senior Category Manager role will require the candidate to provide the Procurement interface within the Technology division across a multiple stakeholder and fast paced environment and act as a senior category specialist for IT expenditure, whilst supporting the Team Lead and Head of Technology Procurement in delivering the Technology Procurement objectives.

Senior Category Manager - Technology Skills/Experience

  • Sound knowledge of the Technology/software and associated sectors, products, services, suppliers

  • Extensive commercial awareness across IT and Technology

  • Experience with working global/pan-European complex projects

  • Demonstrable experience of commercial and legal negotiations including well developed contract-drafting skills and possess the skill and confidence needed to influence and negotiate effectively at all levels with internal and external stakeholders;

  • Demonstrate a flexible approach, willingness to learn and respond positively to pressurised, fast moving and changing circumstances (e.g. re-planning due to internal/external dependencies)

  • High level of professionalism and transparency across all activities

  • Excellent organisational, communication and presentation skills

  • Display enthusiasm and self-motivation to overcome obstacles and demonstrate a positive approach in the face of difficulty whilst encouraging the same approach in others

  • High level understanding and experience of leading Company-wide procurement reviews and implementing and delivering them

  • Excellent time-management skills and the ability to prioritise

  • Be committed to providing high levels of service to both internal and external customers

  • Work effectively independently and as part of a team
