Category Specialist - Local Heroes
We have an exciting opportunity for a Category Specialist to work in our Field Operations team working in the Platform Economics category focusing on building the Local Heroes third party materials platform.
You will be the procurement business partner for Local Heroes, capturing the business needs to then bring the expertise and opportunities from across all procurement categories into Local Heroes. To do this you will work closely with the internal stakeholders and external third parties to continuously seek to improve value delivery through a framework of category management with a commercial growth and change advocacy mindset.
As the procurement business partner for Local Heroes (LH) you own the LH supplier roadmap, translating the business needs to procurement and ensuring all category strategy’s include LH needs short and medium term. Creation of strategy for Local Heroes Trader benefits platform is key as you work with stakeholders to create a unique offering for Traders versus direct and indirect competitor platforms.
As the Category Specialist you will own strategy for Local Heroes eMaterials Platform, working across all Field Operations categories to build commercially advantageous platform for LH traders to utilise, supporting retention of traders and growth. Supporting Field Operations Category Managers when required on all categories within materials, platform economics, logistics and manpower areas.

Knowledge of end to end Category Management including market insight, business partnering, negotiation, on-going supplier management and governance. Understanding of general and contract law
Degree educated or equivalent and/or appropriate experience in work experience
Membership of CIPS (or equivalent) preferable
