Category Manager - IT role in a fast-paced, dynamic, international environment. We are looking for a dynamic Technology Procurement Professional with a truly ‘go get’ approach and the ability to ‘challenge the norm’ to make the role their own.

This is an opportunity with a highly profitable and successful company with an international presence; you will be based in West London.

Purpose of the Role:

Reporting to the Head of Tech Sourcing, you will be a key member of this Sourcing Team. You will be brought in to lead the Sourcing activities for the Technology category, including vendor management, management of all 3rd party suppliers spend and providing corporate governance.

You will ideally have experience of system integrators, knowledge of web based IT and financial reporting tools.  You must be strong analytically with excellent excel skills.

You must be strong in software sourcing per se. This role will involve you in the full spectrum of IT including Outsourcing.

Role Responsibilities

  • Responsible for prioritisation and delivery of commercial and contractual negotiations against agreed savings targets within their category
  • Drive cost reduction efforts through process improvements, contractual efficiencies and elimination of inefficient spending
  • Take ownership of the full procurement lifecycle, including supplier relationship management, and risk management
  • Build strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders and act as a functional bridge between external vendors and internal stakeholders (including senior management)
  • Ability to create and implement a strategic plan for category management and supplier development
  • Establish and maintain long-term working relationships or partnerships between the company and new and existing suppliers, in order to improve -time-to-market' and to safeguard capacity, quality, cost, minimise risk and assure continuity of supply and relationships in the long term

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Significant Outsourcing, Commercial, Technical or Supply Chain experience
  • Self-starter who can manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive to completion effectively
  • Solid and demonstrable Vendor Management and/or Procurement capabilities
  • Effective team player with excellent communication skills, along with the ability to motivate, influence and negotiate
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills are key to this role
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision but engage effectively with a wider team
  • Ability to engage at all levels of an organisation
  • Full understanding of and ability to execute RFI/RFP and all tender processes
  • Good knowledge of SLA’s, KPI’s, particularly with regard to enforcing those SLA’s and KPI’s
  • Procurement experience within integrating companies is a plus

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Exposure to and understanding of legal frameworks and contract law
  • Experience of undertaking market research and analysis across indirect & direct spend categories to provide evidence to support/facilitate sourcing decisions
  • Knowledge of web based IT infrastructure technologies and understanding of financial reporting tools
