An excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement / contracts management professional to build out a brand new role within this leading financial services organisation.

Our client is a leading Financial Services organisation offering a number of specialist products in Insurance services.  Due to a rapid increase in business and customer generation, they have now created a new role within their procurement and contracts management team, for an experience Sourcing / Vendor Manager to add commercial value to the procurement and outsourced services team.

The Role:

We are looking for a Procurement Specialist who will take responsibility for assisting in the commercial and contract management of third party services for claims suppliers. This role is incredibly varied; from tendering new sourcing activity, negotiating on renewals of existing contracts, building important relationships at all levels within the business, forging excellent partnership agreements with outsourced service providers and working on some exciting third-party services projects. This is a high profile role within a lean Commercial function.

You will have daily communication with senior leadership figures up to C-level.  A strong understanding of procurement and vendor management is required as you will be responsible for supporting business owners with category management of supplier spend; identifying opportunities and controlling expenses, taking the lead on negotiation for new products or services and monitoring market trends and conditions in the categories you are responsible for.

To be considered for this role you should possess the following:-

  • Hold or be studying for a recognised contract management qualification and/or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience of having worked in a commercial contract management or legal environment
  • A working knowledge of contract law
  • Experience of software licencing agreements.
  • Awareness and understanding of corporate governance; able to work within established processes and systems
  • Commercial awareness with a good understanding of key business drivers
  • IT literate, with good keyboard skills
  • Able to analyse management information and identify trends/opportunities for service enhancement and improvement
  • Good organisation skills; able to organise self and others
  • Able to develop and maintain positive working relationships at all levels; good team working skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including ability to draft reports and other business documents
  • Enthusiastic and passionate
