Are you looking for a procurement role where you can fulfil your potential and be supported to improve your purchasing skills in an exciting growing team? As an Associate Buyer, you will be accountable for end to end management of your portfolio including sourcing and contract management. Working with stakeholders to understand and challenge demand, set sourcing strategy, deliver events from market engagement through to award and with support drive value through contract management.

What you'll be doing
• With support, profile category through supplier research and market trends to assess future contract risks and opportunities
• With support, drive value by effectively delivering tender events for services, works and/or products, in order to meet the business need
• Support engagement of stakeholders both internally and externally
• Run sourcing events with support
• Manage low risk contracts within their portfolio, ensuring contract issues are resolved effectively
• Responsible for ensuring adherence to relevant legislation, processes and frameworks within their portfolio
• Support the development of contractual agreements to meet business needs
• Support supplier relationship management and contract relationship management activities
• Support the implementation of procurement and contract management change initiatives
• Monitor the performance of suppliers through KPIs

What you'll bring
• A good understanding of sourcing and category management
• Experience of communicating with others from peer group to management
• A good understanding of contract management principles
• Experience in supporting supplier meetings
• Experience of analysing and presenting data to inform contract activities
• An understanding of contract drafting principles
• An understanding of different forms of contracts/framework agreements
• An understanding of project management principles
• Experience in supporting process improvements to improve the customer experience
• Experience in supporting negotiations with suppliers
• Experience in supporting an evaluation of supplier capabilities
• Knowledge of cost control and working within budget
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• An understanding of EU and Utility Procurement Directives ideally supported by evidence of running a competitive compliant tender process
