CONSTRUCTION CATEGORY MANAGER - LONDON - LEADING PROFESSIONAL SERVICES PROVIDER - £50K - £55K + PACKAGE
This renowned company is looking for a procurement professional to come in at category manager level and provide innovative sourcing techniques across the construction category. The ideal candidate will have commercial flair and excellent relationship building skills in order to drive performance throughout the entire procurement team.
What will the role entail?
Joining an established procurement function, you will have the luxury of augmenting an already efficient sourcing team. You will be tasked with engaging with the construction suppliers to form new and better business relationships - transferring the stakeholder's requirements into tangible foreseeable savings. You will act as the go between for the business and suppliers, looking at tenders and contract renewals to enhance previous savings and improve cost savings. You will act as the subject matter expert for M&E, infrastructure, CAPEX and sub-contracts within JCT, NEC3, and FDIC.
What is required to be successful?
- You will ideally come from a blue chip background with the experience and gravitas to manage senior level engagements
- Construction procurement experience is key - with the ability to understand and gain rapport with suppliers and manage contracts across JCT and NEC3 etc
- Commercial acumen is key, the savvy and drive to secure savings with the foresight and passion to instil efficiency
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt your style in accordance with your stakeholders
