A leading management consultancy with a proven reputation seeks a Direct Procurement Consultant to join their fast growing procurement team. Having been nominated for numerous high calibre awards in the past year, they are looking to continue their rapid expansion, and secure their position as a market leading management consultancy firm. The role will involve interaction with key clients on a day to day basis, project coordination, responsibility from day one, and offers the opportunity to quickly progress to Senior Procurement Consultant.

As a Direct Procurement Consultant, you will be accountable for:

  • Designing and implementing strategy for sourcing raw materials for clients in the aerospace, automotive and defence industries, as well as other sectors
  • Ensuring the best strategy for clients sourcing materials specifically including electric drive units, exhaust systems, engine components, propulsion systems, turbine blades, and other key materials
  • Providing essential project support by researching clients, industries, and customer needs
  • Planning and attending workshops to fully understand customer requirements
  • Identifying procurement problems and recommending solutions
  • Evaluating data and presenting findings to procurement management in meetings
  • Making contributions to proposal submissions under the direction of a senior consultant
  • Leading smaller projects after you have gained some experience, and gaining the skills necessary to become Senior Procurement Consultant
  • Taking the lead on preparing material for important client meetings

As a Direct Procurement Consultant, you will need:

  • Experience in end to end sourcing of direct materials (indirect service also welcomed)
  • A strong degree in business, engineering, IT, mathematics, science or economics
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Good relationship skills
  • To be confident presenting
  • The ability to turn data into key messages

It is desirable for the Direct Procurement Consultant to have:

  • A master's degree in any discipline
  • Business level fluency in a second language
  • Evidence of continual learning
  • Prior work experience in a client/stakeholder facing environment
  • Experience in management consultancy
  • Project management skills
  • Leadership skills
