This is a greenfield environment in terms of procurement function.  Opportunity to work across all areas of sourcing and procurement during a period of significant change. Financial Services - dynamic and forward-thinking company.

6 months initial contract.  London and Kent are key locations.

Currently going through significant restructure / integration / change.

You will need to be able to motivate and mentor a small team of junior staff whilst maintaining a handle on the day-to-day BAU (definitely rolling your sleeves up) and looking at opportunities to improve the ways of working within the organisation.  E.g. the pipeline of opportunities - be they cost savings, process improvements, risk mitigation etc.

Things like:

  • Vendor Management and Contract Negotiation
  • Negotiate measurable contract terms which maximise value  whilst minimising risks
  • Make use of a wide range of pricing structures to manage risk and incentivise performance against the contract
  • Deliver best value through intelligent negotiation strategies
  • Manage ongoing delivery versus contract terms through regular vendor management

Develop Strategic Partnerships:

  • Negotiate preferential rates for goods and services with a smaller number of more strategic suppliers

Evaluate Value and Manage Waste:

  • Through analysis, benchmarking and otherwise, identify the value and costs driven through business decisions
  • Through logical business cases, influence Business Stakeholders to make logical changes which eliminate waste and drive more value

Requirements:

  • Significant Procurement experience including IT & non-IT
  • Organisational M&A / Integration / Consolidation
  • Ability to instill confidence in others during a period of uncertainty
  • Comfortable with/able to work in ambiguity
  • Strong Leadership / team management capabilities
  • Strategic thinking
  • First class stakeholder engagement and management
  • Experience of working within a customer centric business
  • Previous experience of working within a highly regulated environment
  • Previous experience and the ability to demonstrate how to embed a customer centric culture within a business
  • Previous experience and the ability to demonstrate how to identify, measure and mitigate potential customer risks within a business.
