1.2. Purpose of the role

Working within the technical procurement team, you will provide specialist technical and engineering knowledge to the wider procurement function including costing verification and supplier process improvements. This is an outstanding opportunity for a recent graduate, or someone looking to utilise their engineering expertise within a fast paced and wide ranging role. Candidates with existing experience of either cost verification or technical audits are also encouraged to apply.

1.3. Background

HUMS are currently seeking an enthusiastic and intelligent graduate level, or equivalent, Engineer to join our technical procurement function. This opportunity will allow you to develop your engineering knowledge within a large automotive manufacturer. Training will be provided and there will be plenty of scope to develop both knowledge and skills within this role.

Once fully trained you will be expected to take responsibility for:

- Costing and verifying suppliers’ manufacturing Investment for new project tooling.

- Lead tooling cost negotiation

- Creation of tooling strategies and toolmaker selection.

- Market Research (industry trends & benchmarking and toolmaker mapping)

- Detailed cost analysis of parts & investment

- Accurate reporting and target setting

Key focus areas within the section include press, weld, casting forging machining, Injection moulding

and associated tooling.

1.4. Skills & Experience

 Relevant engineering degree or equivalent(desirable)

 Experience of cost verification(Essential)

 Stamping/Welding and/or Plastic injection moulding/assembly process knowledge(Essential)

 Experience working within a project management environment would be beneficial
