Senior Category Manager
Our high profile Public Sector client are looking for a forward thinking and innovative procurement professional to join the existing team and provide expert advise to the organisation. You will work closely with the Commercial Director and have experience of delivering robust strategies, implementing best practice, and ensuring the organisation benefits from value for money, without compromising service levels across the indirect spend portfolio.
You will liaise with suppliers that provide goods and services within the public sector to ensure that stakeholders needs are met and correct advice is given. You will lead on Procurement Projects both new and existing, manage contracts effectively, work in conjunction with the legal team and individual stakeholders, use public sector guidelines and adhere to OJEU regulations. This role would suit a senior procurement/category manager who has had experience in both the Public and Private Sector and is used to working in a fast paced delivery focused environment with Project Management experience.

·Recent experience of OJEU procurement (full life cycle)
·Ability to develop public sector strategic sourcing strategies
·Strong negotiator and ability to engage and advise senior stakeholders
·Contract management and effective Supplier Relationship Management skills
·Proven cost saving skills
·Proven track record of implementing procurement strategies and innovative solutions
·Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
·Self-starter with gravitas and presence
·Existing knowledge of managing a large indirect portfolio - cross category within a Public Sector environment
