Graduate Supplier Development Engineer opportunity with Global OEM Automotive organisation.  Due to organic team growth our client, a Global automotive manufacturer, are recruiting for passionate graduate automotive engineers to join as Graduate Supplier Development Engineers with a passion for design and production / manufacturing. The successful Supplier Development Engineers will be given extensive training and development in a world class manufacturing organisation. 

Our client works collaboratively with their suppliers and this role sits within the engineering arm of purchasing, which provides support to suppliers from product development through to pre-production and into mass production applying continuous improvement principles to ensure supplier parts achieve requirements.  

Graduate Supplier Development Engineer Responsibilities:

  •  Provide the link between our client and their component suppliers developing new products for the next generation of cars in Europe
  • Take responsibility from product development through to pre-production and into mass production using our clients unique production preparation methodology and teamwork approach

  • You are leading the preparation team of design, quality & logistics professionals internally and externally, monitoring the planning and development activities of a group of suppliers throughout Europe in a specific commodity area

  • Continuously promote innovations and improvements, ensuring on-time preparation leading to the successful introduction of your parts into mass production

  • Work together with your suppliers, improve and develop their mass production performance in the areas of quality, delivery and productivity 

Graduate Supplier Development Engineer Requirements: 

  • Degree in Engineering - Mechanical / Production / Manufacturing or similar

  • This would suit someone with previous experience in Quality / Production / Industrial Engineering department preferably in the automotive or mass production environment

  • Strong planning and organization skills

  • Enjoy working in a team, respecting others

  • A creative mind and passion for cars

  • Excellent communication and project management skills

  • A proactive hands-on approach and outgoing personality

  • You have an analytical mind-set

  • You are willing to travel frequently (60% of time at Suppliers)
