This award winning, leading global automotive firm are looking to expand their Procurement team, seeing this as essential to guaranteeing value in the business. This company are looking for a like-minded individual to take up an indirects category manager role spanning across a range of directs and indirects in a collaborative procurement function. The chosen individual will continuously seek to improve value through sourcing strategy and category management, to make certain Procurement is viewed as an effective, worthwhile aspect of the business.

The Procurement role will involve:

  • Ensuring best value for money by sourcing and procuring a range of goods and services across a range of direct and indirect categories such as raw materials, fm, logistics and professional services; thus, ensuring optimum value
  • Working alongside senior stakeholders and understanding/delivering their future needs
  • Draft, negotiate and obtain agreement to commercial contracts, minimising risk to business
  • Developing a strategic sourcing strategy within your category/categories
  • Improve on the bottom line and cost saving targets by examining acquisition costs and working with stakeholders and suppliers

Key Skills:

  • In depth market knowledge of procurement, across a range of categories
  • Track record of making excellent savings through end to end procurement - following the full life cycle of the process
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and understand their needs
  • Maximising value from contract negotiation throughout the duration of the category
  • Degree
  • MCIPS/Prince2 (preferable)
  • Advanced negotiating skills
  • Able to display excellent leadership, management and influence over the team, leading by example
  • Excellent analytical ability
