To deliver effective police investigations, we need excellent forensic scientists.
The Forensic department at the Met plays a critical role in police investigations, detecting crimes and ultimately, keeping the city safe. Our officers have to recover and analyse evidence, then implement their findings quickly so police strategies can be carried out seamlessly. That’s why we need someone who isn’t intimidated by intricate contracts, and can keep suppliers up to our standards.
As a Contracts Manager, you’ll monitor the performance of our Forensic team’s analytical services. It’s about ensuring quality reviews meet or even exceed customer’s expectations and regulatory requirements. You’ll also track external forensic science services so that they deliver value for money. And through your reports and presentations, you’ll keep senior management updated on their performance.
Alongside your MCIPS qualification (or equivalent) and procurement or supply management experience, you’re able to develop excellent relationships. In fact, you’re used to managing indirect and direct customers, demonstrating strong interpersonal and influencing skills. These will be necessary to deal with suppliers and senior managers. Together, you’ll always aim to improve value for money in everything. That way, you’ll provide a more efficient and effective service to MPS.
