This exciting Commercial Contracts Manager role is to negotiate and execute customer contracts using contract frameworks to drive as much revenue as possible whilst adhering to relevant policies, processes and risk management approaches.  

Key responsibilities:

  • Streamline existing large volume, complex contracts
  • Contributing new ideas to the implementation of the new operating model for the team which is based on process excellence; pace; empowerment and excellent communication

  • Build strong relationships and business understanding with the allocated business unit and as a result be recognised as the single point of contact (the go-to person) for all customer contracts providing legal advice and prioritising work to meet the business needs

  • Assess risks on each contract and recommend to the Head of Contract Operations and VP Procurement (as appropriate) a risk-based approach to optimise time; effort; value and risk in each negotiation

  • Lead the negotiation of customer contracts (using agreed forms) in a timely fashion using techniques that achieve a signed contract fast whilst owning the end to end process from drafting through to contract signature

  • Proactively identify areas of continuous improvement and then deliver them in areas such as contract template; process; technology using external experience and new innovations in the external market. Develop and/or adjust contractual templates for the introduction of new services

  • Own continuous personal development and learning

The successful Commercial Contracts Manager should have strong experience in negotiating large contracts in a corporate environment, however the team fit and behavioural profile is just as important in this role.  You will need to be strong, confident, tactful and be able to work with and push back on business units when required in the interests of the business pressures and priorities.
