Director of Supplier Relationship Management; a fantastic opportunity to work for this leading edge, innovative, global organisation in a newly created Director of Supplier Relationship Management role.

This purpose of this role is to develop a strategy; approach; methodology and documentation for SRM and then implement this in a timely fashion to drive commercial benefits; You will maximise value of over $700m of spend though robust SRM.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop a strategy; approach; and methodology for SRM working with business stakeholders and the Procurement Director to ensure this is fit for purpose and workable.

  • Develop appropriate tools; dashboards and use external supplier data sources to professionalise SRM and ensure this is recognised within the organisation as adding value such as ensuring joined up messages and deals with suppliers.

  • Implement SRM in a scalable way both internally and externally and then implement this in a timely fashion to drive commercial benefits.
  • Run the SRM programme providing ongoing leadership; training and guidance and ensuring the ongoing focus on SRM, adapting and changing over time.
  • Articulate and track the value of SRM over time and bring new ideas ad approaches from external sources to keep the SRM programme fresh and relevant.
  • Develop risk assessment tools (and deliver training) for Procurement Directors to assess risks in Procurement decisions and the impact of those decisions to optimise time; effort; value and risk.
  • Provide support, advice and guidance to managers, and lead on areas such as market analysis, supplier development, tender processes, data analysis and negotiation to ensure savings are delivered within a best practice framework following Procurement processes and governance.
  • Develop a new supplier recognition programme and set up and run an annual supplier recognition programme.

  • Drive forward any Procurement technology (such as eAuctions and basic systems) that drives tangible value for Procurement with a low-cost mind-set.

  • Bring market innovations that drive value and protect against foreseeable risks.

  • Work with Finance to devise, collect and analyse spend and market data in support of procurement strategies.

Knowledge and Skills required

  • Strong leadership and influencing skills.
  • Some experience in the development of the theory and implementation of SRM in a company of a similar size and scale
  • Evidence of introducing continuous improvement using external sources (i.e. keeping the programme fresh)
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Ideally educated to degree level, or equivalent
  • Ideally CIPS or working towards
