Procurement Team Leader
Band 4: £30,365 - £35,312
Bootle, Merseyside

Fast-paced, varied and more challenging than ever:
Procurement at ONR is moving to a whole new level.

The challenge
A fast-evolving public corporation, the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is committed to shaping the future of regulation in the UK nuclear industry. Procurement is an increasingly complex area where there’s every chance to make an impact as a skilled Team Leader.

The role
The ONR Procurement team is growing the service we offer taking on more responsibility and managing procurement processes from end to end. As the challenges grow, we need a skilled professional to inspire a small team to provide an exceptional service. Proactive, hands-on and ready to take the initiative, you’ll lead by example, helping to drive continuous improvement and outstanding performance.

Working together with your team, you’ll manage all processes supporting tenders and contracts for a range of goods and services. Day to day, you’ll oversee the team’s work, from requisitioning to invoice management, while making the most of management information. At all stages, you’ll see that ONR secures value for money and follows relevant policies, procedures and compliance regulations. And if there’s a chance to achieve efficiencies, you’ll make sure we take it.

The person
An experienced Procurement professional, you’ll already have the expertise. You’re capable of managing processes within a fast-paced, high-profile environment. If you’re not CIPS-qualified already, you’ll be working towards this (or prepared to gain the qualification). Whatever your background, you’ll know how to gather and analyse data, and have experience of leading a team. Highly organised and driven, you’ll build strong working relationships and bring excellent people management skills. With the courage to make improvements and look beyond transactions, you’ll push for progress and see the wider procurement picture.

The rewards
We offer competitive salaries at the ONR, with these roles attracting a salary of £30,365 - £35,312. In addition, up to £15,000 relocation may be available. Furthermore, you’ll be eligible for a substantial Civil Service Pension scheme (including ill-health retirement and lump sum family benefits). Plus, you’ll receive a very generous holiday entitlement.

About us
ONR is a Public Corporation created to ensure the highest standards of safety and security across all of the UK’s licensed nuclear sites. Our inspectors are drawn from all manner of professional backgrounds including civil engineering, radiological protection, human factors, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering and nuclear physics. And together they’re involved in everything from assessing safety cases to planned security inspections to the development and implementation of a new domestic safeguards regime.
