Head of Category Management
Langley Search & Interim is currently searching for a Head of Category Management who will also be the Deputy MD of a Collaborative Procurement organisation and sits on the Executive Leadership Team. This organisation is undertaking a major transformation of their procurement & customer facing areas and you will lead on this initiative for the Key Category Workstreams and the Procurement Support Team. You will lead, coach & develop a team of c. 35 people with a spend of c. £3bn with multiple stakeholders nationally delivering ‘best in class’ procurement plans and implementation.
You will have experience of:
- Working at a Senior Management Level in procurement in multiple organisations in the public or private sectors leading change programmes across multiple sites/divisions
- Demonstrable commercial experience of leading a significant category team delivering benefits and results – able to coach, train and mentor. An excellent role model.
- Experience of collaborating with strategic partners both in the supply base and with other public sector procurement teams.
- The strategic vision to lead and manage the development of services and be able to deputise for the MD when required.
- Develop and extend the markets & stakeholders serviced, developing new services and innovation to meet stakeholder needs both now and into the future
- Experience of being a skilled team leader planning & developing Category Plans, Contract Management methodology and implement best in class SRM techniques
- Experience of developing the governance framework and risk management techniques required to enable value for money and a ROI
- Ideally you will be FCIPS/MCIPS qualified (or equivalent) with an MBA/or equivalent qualifications.
- You will be an excellent communicator and influencer – able to build key stakeholder relationships and gain agreement on the roadmap
