Interim Procurement Project Manager
Morgan Law is currently supporting a Local Government client to recruit to their procurement team as part of a wider council transformation programme. They are seeking an Interim Procurement Project Manager and candidates with Category Management experience to provide additional capacity as the transformation programme is being delivered. The role is expected to last a minimum of 6 months
Key responsibilities include:
- Support the delivery of a number of contract opportunities that will generate savings where we have already identified individuals within the procurement team who can take a lead; or deliver some opportunities directly.
- Development of appropriate tools to monitor progress of projects against key measures; and working with the teams to continue to improve data quality to support procurement decision making.
- Take responsibility for the delivery of some procurement projects across categories and provide support to others in the team in a mentoring capacity.
- Experience in a similar senior procurement role within Local Government is essential.
You will also have flexibility to work across a broad spectrum of providers and be able to apply thinking learned in one context successfully into another. They will also need to be able to work at both an operational and a strategic level.
