GDST, the UK's leading network of independent girls’ schools with a turnover of more than £250m, require a Head of Procurement to lead the Procurement function and deliver efficient processes, achieve economies of scale and drive best value for money across a wide range of categories, both in schools and at Head Office (“Trust Office”).

The successful candidate will undertake the ongoing management and development of the procurement strategy and contracts from a central perspective, ensuring the cost base is continuously challenged in a structured way. You will be expected to work collaboratively with the schools to ensure local initiatives seek to maximise value for money for the Trust as a whole. You will work with the Chief Financial Officer and wider senior management on specific procurement initiatives and lead on the procurement work stream on any business development projects.

The successful candidate must be fully CIPS qualified and should have experience of procurement in a multi-site, decentralised setting. Proven financial acumen and outstanding interpersonal skills are vital for the role, which will be based in Victoria, SW1 and involve some travel to GDST schools.

The GDST (Girls' Day School Trust) is the UK's leading network of independent girls’ schools, with a turnover of more than £250m, around 4,000 staff, and nearly 19,000 pupils between the ages of three and 18. As a charity that owns and runs a network of 23 schools and two academies in England and Wales, it reinvests all its income in its schools. Founded in 1872, the GDST has a long history of pioneering innovation in the education of girls, and is the largest single educator of girls in the UK (and the UK’s largest educational charity).

To apply please send your CV and a supporting statement outlining your suitability for the role and why you’d like to be part of the team at GDST.

Applications must be received by 09.00 on Tuesday 28th May.

Interviews will take place week commencing 3rd June.

GDST are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
