The Head of Procurement for Commercial Trade will be responsible for developing an integrated procurement strategy with focus on cross border trade. This encompasses all opportunities predominantly within the branded and speciality categories, but also looking at new categories including generics and medical devices. You will support the countries in developing new ideas and ways of working to leverage enterprise strength, scale and capabilities to deliver the company's commercial trade strategic objectives and financial goals. In addition, you will work cross functionally and cross border to identify opportunities to grow commercial trade revenue and profitability through strategic partnerships, identifying new sources of supply as well as new customer opportunities.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the successful development and implementation of the commercial trade strategy

  • Define and deliver financial (primarily cash margin) targets for the business and own the central commercial trade budget and reporting

  • Work collaboratively and cross functionally in leading and creating new business models and concepts to drive additional revenue to the business

  • Lead as well as support with developing business relationships and negotiations with strategic EU commercial stakeholders both internally and externally

  • Develop proposals on how process or structural adjustments can be made to improve performance both at a local and central level working in close collaboration with the EU businesses

  • Help coordinate resources from twelve subsidiaries to leverage group buy-in and sell-out activities

  • Work collaboratively with Public Affairs to manage all risk mitigation strategies within the commercial trade category

  • Works in close collaboration with business analysts to identify new opportunities that can be exploited from both an import or export perspective

  • Manage a team of two and provide support and guidance in order to deliver goals and objectives

  • Work with the Data Analytics team to implement regular reporting (incl. KPIs) to monitor success of strategy

  • Ensure that the flow of intra-company trade in dispensary products is aligned with the global dispensary strategy to maximise the profitability

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong strategic thinking and implementation skills

  • Strong Procurement background, ideally from a Pharma organisation, but not essential

  • Ideally experience of working in a Parallel Trade organisation

  • Excellent communicator and strong personal interaction skills including the ability to motivate people on all levels

  • Very good negotiator on an international level

  • Diplomatic behaviour and communication when dealing with managers in a multi-cultural setting

  • Ability to be enthusiastic about corporate visions and goals

  • Strong target and output orientation

  • Positive personality with a good standing, demonstrating opinions and sound judgement
