Joining our Operational Finance senior management team, this person will lead the procurement function across Ofgem, ensuring efficiency, compliance, robust contract and supplier management practices all contribute to high quality outcomes and value for money. Leadership skills will be key as you look to foster a driven, high-performing and dynamic procurement team ethos. As well as developing the organisational procurement strategy you will also develop Ofgem’s first centre of excellence for contract management, enhancing overall organisational capacity and expertise in this area. You’ll help to create a systematic and strategic approach to procurement, setting out clear objectives and milestones within our procurement strategy. A key part of this will be Ofgem’s investment in a new purchase order and procurement system, and you’ll play a key role in delivering this project.

We expect that you’ll be professionally qualified and a Member of CIPS, and that this will be backed up by significant experience in best practice procurement of multiple categories, particularly professional services and relevant contracting processes. Fully up-to-date with current regulations and best practice you should also offer a successful track record in managing supplier performance, and bring strong commercial acumen to the role. You should be able to demonstrate previous experience of managing procurement or contract management teams and show a proven track record in developing best practice procurement and contract management strategies and embedding these into day-to-day activity.
