The University of Nottingham is inviting applications for a Strategic Procurement Partner to join our team at an exciting time of change. We are currently undergoing a Procurement Transformation programme and this role is a key part of that. Your primary focus will be to directly support stakeholders across the University to deliver the end to end procurement process, for tenders in excess of £100k, in a Lean, Simple and Compliant manner. This will include leading the development and implementation of category sourcing strategies, deliver sourcing projects that realise savings and ensure appropriate contracts are in place to meet current KPIs objectives and future requirements for the goods and services within the category as well as ensuring it meets the University Strategy.

You will be responsible for expenditure within their category and sub-categories and for achieving Value for Money. As the successful candidate, you will require in-depth knowledge of Public Sector Procurement Regulations, category analysis, benchmarking of current costs against current market pricing.

As part of your role, you will be responsible for managing relationships with senior managers, internal stakeholders and key suppliers. You will also manage contracts for devolved spend generic related activities undertaken ensuring supplier performance within the Supplier Relationship Management framework.

You will be educated to degree level, or equivalent, or have a proven track record of relevant extensive work experience in public sector procurement and full Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) or working towards.  An extensive background in a procurement role and significant experience of large-scale procurements is essential.

This is a permanent full-time post, however job share arrangements may be considered.
