When you join us as a Procurement Category Manager – where you will have full responsibility for the procurement of maintenance and building contracts – you will also be focused on delivering a service that keeps our residents and other customers satisfied.

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will focus on the effective procurement of contractors across key construction and maintenance categories. This will involve being responsible for the end-to-end tender process and evaluating and recommending the use of Framework Providers.

You will also be responsible for evaluating our current expenditure, implementing procurement strategies that deliver quality and value, and reviewing the performance and development of the supply chain of your assigned portfolio of categories. Acting as an internal consultant to Assets and Services and ensuring a fully compliant procurement capability, are also key aspects of the role.

 

To secure this exciting opportunity, we’re looking for a proactive, organised and self-motivated individual, preferably with a CIPS Level 4 Diploma qualification or working towards, or demonstrable equivalent experience. You will also have broad experience gained within the Housing Sector (or similar) procurement environments, including use of the Public Contract Regulations, OJEU and Section 20, plus experience in assessing procurement and category management methodology, preparing tender documentation, undertaking contractor liaison and procuring contractors in a fast-paced and developing procurement environment.

An excellent communicator, both verbal and written, with strong interpersonal, prioritisation and IT skills, you will also be target-driven, able to demonstrate a good eye for detail and have impressive attention to detail.
