Senior Buyer - Growing Private Hospital Chain - London

£33k - £40k + Bonus + package

My client is a top 20 Private Hospital with multiple clinics across London with plans to expand across the UK in the next few years. This is a newly created position within their procurement team due to a new centre opening in their centre of excellence in South London. Procurement has been central to the firm's success in the last 3 years as they've established one of the most successful supply chains in the sector, with strong relationships with the industry's leading suppliers.

They are looking for a Senior Buyer to join a rapidly growing procurement team work closely with the Senior Category Manager to purchase Clinical items such as all Surgical items, Scanners, Machinery with a spend of around £100m. This role will involve fully furnishing new surgical theatres as they continue to grow across the UK and, as you progress within the company, you will have the opportunity to manage a region of centres within your portfolio.

Key responsibilities:

  • Be a core member of the clinical team, being involved with setting the group-wide strategy and owning a portfolio of complex suppliers and projects
  • Lead a junior buyer in congruence with the overall strategy
  • Play a central role when tendering to domestic and European suppliers
  • Manage newly created relationships with suppliers and key internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery

Responsibilities:

  • Experience in sourcing clinical equipment or other medical items such as pharmaceuticals
  • Hands-on experience working end-to-end on projects
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge of the OJEU framework
  • Working towards CIPS
  • Degree Educated 2.1 and above
  • Knowledge of procurement platforms such as Ariba, SAP and Oracle
