Do you have experience in cost accounting or similar? We are currently recruiting for a Senior Cost Management Specialist for an innovative and dynamic Global automotive tier 1 manufacturer in Brussels. This role works closely with purchasing, design, engineering, production, project and logistics teams on all costs associated with their products and potential supplier costs so experience on how to calculate costs and work with data is essential.  

As Senior Cost Management Specialist, you will need to ideally have experience in the automotive industry or other manufacturing industries as a knowledge / product interest for design and production is very important due to you working closely throughout the project on all milestones / stages of the projects on potential design change, labour costs, material changes, BOM etc.  

Softer skills such as strong communication skills are essential due to the amount of internal customers you will have, being able to convince and influence, strong data skills is essential (advanced excel minimum), time management and interest in further development.  


  • In-house cost calculation for projects
  • Cost evaluation and control
  • Cost reduction target setting
  • Cost management for project
  • Project profit management
  • Lifetime profit analysis
  • Project status report to Senior Management
  • Setting profit target & profit status reporting
  • Cost calculation at RFQ(request for quotation) phase
  • CCIS/ECI calculation
  • Standardization of the cost calculations and simulation process for each project 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics or Engineering
  • Microsoft Excel with extensive usage of v-look-up, formulas, pivot tables, power pivot and chart/graph generations
  • Experience with Excel created Bills of Material and spreadsheet models
  • Good knowledge of large and complex data analysis with a high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent data and variance analysis skills
  • Prior experience of Engineering Change Management Process
  • Experience in a cross-functional role
  • Commercial and/or project experience in automotive industry is an asset
  • Fluent in English. Knowledge of other languages is an asset
  • Previous experience SAP MM module is an asset
  • Willing to travel abroad for short to mid terms
  • Able to build sustainable and professional relationships
  • Independent, initiative taker and a real team-player
